Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
MDC Community Organization ("MDC", "we", "us") is an incorporated nonprofit in Ontario, Canada. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices, in keeping with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Information we collect
- Email subscriptions: when you subscribe, we collect your email address and a record of your consent (date/time and approximate technical details such as IP address) so we can send you the updates you asked for.
- Event registration: registrations are handled through a third-party form (Google Forms); information you enter there is governed by that provider's terms in addition to ours.
- Program participants: for enrolled programs we may keep records such as participant and guardian names, contact details, program/level, and fees. This information is provided directly by you or a guardian.
How we use your information
- To send you event announcements, program updates, and community news you've subscribed to.
- To administer programs you or your family take part in.
- To respond to your enquiries.
How we protect it
Your information is stored on secured, access-controlled infrastructure and transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We limit access to people who need it to run our programs. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
We don't sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate (for example, our email-delivery and hosting providers), and only as needed to provide the service.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails anytime using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
- Access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you by contacting us.
Children's information
Some of our programs serve children and youth. Where we collect a minor's information, we do so with a parent or guardian's involvement and use it only to run the relevant program.
